5th Grade Math

6th Grade Math

  • Compare decimals.
  • Order decimals.
  • Round decimals.

Important Dates

  • 09/05/23 – Test on last week’s objectives. Parents who are on Remind will get a copy of the practice test to help students study.
  • 09/06/23 – Star360 Assessment
  • 09/08/23 – Test on this week’s objectives.

Announcements

  • Test – I was absent last Friday, so I decided to postpone the test until Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
  • Star 360 – The Star 360 assessment lets teachers know students’ strengths and weaknesses in math. Students are given this assessment three times during the school year. The goal is to see growth, so that, teachers can challenge students and prepare them for the next grade in math.
  • Grades – I will be posting grades this week. Please check your child’s homework. Many parents signed the weekly homework calendar, but students do not complete all of the homework for the week. I do not allow students to submit assignments late if they are in attendance. Students who are absent must make up their work. They must do this by getting any handouts from the Absent drawer, taking notes from my website, and submitting any class or homework assignments. Students get a day for each day they were absent to make up any work due to their absence. Many students, who have been absent, do not always check the Absent drawer to get any worksheets or handouts. Students should be able to finish all classwork during the time given in class, especially if they are focused. I often have to redirect some students. Successful students require little redirection and accountable for their actions. So, let’s work on being successful!
  •  Weekly Progress Reports – I would like to email all parents a weekly progress report, which provides “the why” for grades. I don’t want grades to be a surprise, so this checklist will help you understand how to best support your child. In the past, I sent home progress reports with students to return with a parent signature. However, it became an insurmountable task to contact parents of students who did not return the weekly report. Therefore, I am emailing all parents who gave me their email address. The email will come from my email address ([email protected]) instead of Aspen.
